Reasons for Starting a Business Blogging! We recently published a blog post that answered common but nuanced questions “What Is A Landing Page?” It made me realize that some of the other things that I do every day might seem a little strange to someone who has just started out with marketing. For example, a blogging business.
What is that? What is the difference between ordinary blogging and business blogging? And why do we do it? What is the purpose of all that? Oh dear, I can talk about this all day long! But I will stay short. 🙂 And if you are currently working as a full-time blogger business, maybe bookmark this for future family gatherings .
What is a Business Blog?
Business blogging is a marketing tactic that uses blogging to increase your business’s online visibility. That definition raises two questions:
What is “blogging,”? I still don’t know what blogging is!
What do you mean by “online visibility”?
Let’s start with question number one. Blogging is the act of creating short form content. “Blog entries”, posted to your website’s “blog” – part of the website where you store all those posts.
For example, you are reading a blog post, a piece of short-form content that has been posted on a blog. It is also important to note that when you do a blogging business, your blog posts are about the certain subject matter related to your business.
For example, HubSpot is an entry marketing platform, so our blog talks about the topics of incoming marketing using Facebook and Twitter for business, email marketing, business blogs, etc. Your business blog will talk about things related to your business. Now to question number two – define “online visibility.”
Online visibility exactly as it sounds can be found and viewed on the internet. This can mean that your business appears on search engines, on social media, on other people’s blogs as guest writers, etc. Business blogs are one way to help your business in front of people who are looking for your product or service on the internet.
How Is Business Blogging Different From Ordinary Blogging?
Many people have personal blogs or even blogs that bring money through selling advertising space. But the blogging business is different from all that, because your blog is not a hobby, like many people’s personal blogs, or 2) the main way your business makes money. Because of the heck, at that point, your blog is only your entire business!
Conversely, business blogs are marketing channels (such as social media, direct mail, email marketing, etc.) that help support business growth. It does that by driving traffic to your website and providing opportunities for that traffic to convert in several ways. Traffic for various businesses might convert differently – some aim to turn traffic into prospects for submission to the sales team, others may aim to turn traffic into customers through online transactions – but in the end, business blogging will start conversions that drive more a lot of business.
Why Do You Have to Do a Blog Business?
This could be the whole blog post itself, but I will try to keep this short, if only for the purpose of helping to define better what business blogging is.
To make your website a valuable marketing asset, you need people to really see it. Besides people who just type in the URL of your Business Blogging website (which is very unlikely for most businesses), there are many ways people can see your website and one great way your website can be found is through search engines.
